Hemingway's Toronto apartment, unit 19 of 1597-99 Bathurst Street, is for sale.  Hemingway lived in the apartment from 1923-1924 while working as a journalist for the Toronto Star.  Hemingway and Hadley were in Toronto for the birth of their son John (Bumby), who was born on October 10, 1923.  To see some current pictures, visit:

The restoration centre built by the Cuban National Cultural Heritage Council and Finca Vigia Foundation of the United States is located on the 15-acre (6-hectare) property where Hemingway lived in a tree-shaded, airy Spanish-style home.  For more information, click here.

Critically-acclaimed debut author Tommy Orange is the winner of the 2019 PEN/Hemingway Award for his novel There There (Knopf), PEN America announced today. Honoring a distinguished first novel, Tommy Orange will receive $25,000 underwritten by the Hemingway Family and the Hemingway Foundation, as well as a month-long Residency Fellowship at the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming, a retreat for artists and writers, valued at $10,000.
