How Would You Teach Hemingway?

How would you teach Hemingway?

Hemingway’s fiction continues to be taught in high schools, colleges, and universities around the globe. In cooperation with the Hemingway Society and Foundation and Dominican University, educators are invited to submit proposals to participate in a one-day workshop on teaching Hemingway’s fiction. The ideal length of a proposal would be a ten-minute presentation that balances theory/interpretation and concrete classroom practices. We foresee including writing prompts, syllabi, handouts, critical readings, and models for digital pedagogy (e.g., Web resources and Wiki writing).

All thematic considerations are welcome, yet we are seeking proposals on the most frequently taught works: The Old Man and the Sea, The Sun Also Rises, and A Farewell to Arms, as well as the short stories.
