Voting Information for 2016 Board Elections

Dear Society Members:

Welcome to our on-line voting for two open positions for the Board of Trustees of the Ernest Hemingway Foundation/Society.  The winners will be elected for three-year terms beginning January 1, 2017.  Our voting procedure will take place online, the same as last year.

We have only one nomination for President, but we have had only one nominee in previous years, and Joe Flora is an excellent candidate.

Please read carefully each candidate’s statement and consider as you are casting your votes that Board members should be willing to attend the annual Board meeting (often held in conjunction with the American Literature Association’s annual conference), and that they should be prepared and able to take on assigned responsibilities (which can be considerable) in keeping with the ongoing mission of the Foundation/Society to promote interest and scholarship in the works of Ernest Hemingway.  This is very much a working Board.

Please rank each candidate for the Board from 1 to 5, with 1 being your first choice.  Candidates with the lowest tally will win the election.  ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE RANKED FOR YOUR BALLOT TO COUNT.

Remember to update your membership as only currently viable members will be allowed to vote.  The voting begins on November 1 with a deadline of November 30, 2016.  If for whatever reason you prefer to vote by mail, please contact us by November 1 using the contact page on our website (https://www.hemingwaysociety.org/contact) and we will mail you a ballot (to be returned to us no later than November 30, 2016). The Foundation/Society will announce the election results online by December 15, 2016.

Thank you for your participation.

For the Nominating Committee,

Linda Miller, Chair
