Oak Park in 2016

Limited daily shuttle service will be provided at the Carleton of Oak Park Hotel and The Write Inn to/from the conference hall at Dominican University. Free parking will also be available at Dominican for participants (a very short walk to the conference hall). Local bike rentals are available at Greenline Wheels.

If you would prefer to stay in downtown Chicago, Oak Park is on the elevated train's (El) Green line. You can catch the shuttle at either the Carleton Hotel or the Write Inn. Airport hotels are also fairly close to Oak Park & River Forest. Suggestions are listed below. Be advised that there is a large downtown conference with many hotel blocks already reserved.

In addition to the following lodging options, there are several B&Bs in Oak Park. If the blocked rooms at the Carleton Hotel and Write Inn fill, we might be able to secure additional rooms at these rates.

The Carleton of Oak Park Hotel

The Carleton is now full. However, as not all conference participants are staying all week, if you are also planning to come for less than the full week, there is slender chance of availabilty.

1110 Pleasant Street, 2.1 miles from Dominican University, one block from the Green line and the Metro/Union Pacific West line.

Standard Hotel Rooms, $152/night (plus taxes and fees): Non-smoking rooms with one queen bed, kitchen area with microwave/refrigerator, premium cable television, wireless internet, coffee maker, hairdryer, alarm clock, iron and ironing board.
Motor Court Rooms, $114/night (plus taxes and fees): Adjacent to the hotel are 25 guest rooms, all non-smoking with either a king-sized bed or 2 double beds. Entrances to the guest rooms are from the outside. All rooms have a kitchen with micrwave and refrigerator. Premium cable television, wireless internet, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, alarm clock, and data ports are also available.

The Write Inn

211 N. Oak Park Avenue, 2.2 miles from Dominican University, 2 blocks from the Green line, near the Birthplace Home and Museum

As The Write Inn is a boutique hotel, our rooms are unique and each has a style all to its own. All rooms come standard with free wireless internet, cable television, desk, armoire or closet area, hairdryer, coffeemaker, full size bath, and free parking.

8 Standard Rooms, $152 (plus taxes and fees).
10 Family Room Plus, $172 (plus taxes and fees).
4 Pullman rooms, $139 (plus taxes and fees).

Murray Residence Hall, Dominican University

The Residence Hall is now full.

Air conditioned and newer residence hall rooms, including a basic linen packet (no daily cleaning/changing service) and extended business hours at service desk (not 24/7). There are no additional taxes or fees on these rates.

Pay-as-you-go breakfast facility will be available at the Cyber Café, in the main library building, a very short walk from the residence hall and the conference facilities. There will be lunch options on and off campus, but no dinner options on campus.

Two room styles:

Basic rooms, equipped with modular furniture, including a bed, desk, swivel chair, and small dresser (no microwave or fridge).

Double Occupancy Room with shared "cluster" bathroom (max # of guests using the bathroom 4): $30 per guest/night.

Suites contain two double-occupancy and two single-occupancy rooms which share a large common area. with a shared common area containing amenities such as a kitchenette with sink, full-sized refrigerator, microwave, a couch, and a kitchen table.

Hilton Suites Chicago/Oak Brook

10 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Complimentary drop off/pick up will be provided to the Elmhurst Metra Station, times TBD based on the Conference schedule (you will need to schedule your day accordingly). Hotel offers complimentary basic Wi-Fi.
