My
impression is that these vertical bins tended to be Ernest's,
while
the horizontal ones tended to be Mary's. I also get the impression
that since the discs in the vertical bins showed the most variety
(although the middle bin is clearly from various published classical
sets) most of these were
chosen
individually, thus deliberately.

This
page spatially reconstructs the vertical bins on the right side, with
the top bin at the top of the page.
Facing
the music collection in the living room, these are the records that
a tall, right-handed person will reach for most easily, especially the
middle and bottom bins, where the album covers show the most signs of
wear.

This
bottom bin shows the most musical coherence, tending primarily toward
works by baroque composers, especially Bach.
Collectively,
these spines also show the greatest signs of wear.
