know, I want to know what the books are too. One of them, at least, is Death in the Afternoon
(top shelf, under the right edge of whatever's on the shelf to the
left of the typewriter).

but I got the distinct impression
(from silences and expressions)
this this was Ernest's
bedroom
and that Mary's was elsewhere...?
